Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Wins The Gold Medal at Mundus Vini

Segura Viudas Gold Medal Mundus Vini

The quality of Segura Viudas cava is recognized in this prestigious international competition in the wine sector.
Our renowned Cava Segura Viudas Brut Reserva has been awarded the gold medal in the prestigious international Mundus Vini competition in its Spring Tasting 2021 edition. Held in Germany, the demanding contest has valued more than 11,000 wines, among which our Brut Reserva has stood out thanks to its excellent quality.

Fruit, freshness and complexity are the three main virtues that define Segura Viudas Brut Reserva The fruit and freshness come from the careful care with which we treat the grapes, since it is transported in boxes of 25 kilograms to prevent the grain from breaking and only first-press must is used. The complexity comes from a special elaboration consisting of the autolysis of the yeasts with the base wine for 3 months before being bottled, and a second autolysis of the yeasts for a minimum of 15 months of aging inside the bottle. As a result, we obtain aromas of white, tropical and citrus fruits, and moderate floral notes.

The elegant aromas of our cava have undoubtedly convinced the expert committee of Mundus Vini, one of the most prestigious wine and sparkling competitions in the world founded by the leading publisher in the wine sector, Meininger Verlag. Each year, it evaluates more than 11,000 products and has a panel of 300 wine specialists from around the world as a jury.

The medal obtained by Segura Viudas Brut Reserva demonstrates, once again, our commitment to the highest quality and demand in all our wines and cavas. This distinction joins other international awards that our Brut Reserva has recently achieved, such as the gold medals at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and Sommelier Choice Awards and the silver medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020.
