Segura Viudas has added new successes in the prestigious international Effervescents du Monde competition. Specifically, the Segura Viudas Brut Rosé Cava has received a gold medal in the contest, held in France. In addition, it is part of the list of the “Top 10 Best Sparkling Wines 2021“. Likewise, Segura Viudas Brut Reserva has been awarded a silver medal.
Segura Viudas Brut Rosé is made following the traditional system of cold maceration with the grape skins to obtain the vivid color of this rosé and so that the wort is impregnated with the aroma of the grape. The first and second fermentation is carried out with selected yeasts from the winery that provide its own identity. Finally, the aging of a minimum of 12 months in contact with its mothers gives this Cava the perfect balance between aromas of fruit, finesse and complexity.
Finally, fruit, freshness and complexity are the three main virtues that define Brut Reserva de Segura Viudas. The complexity comes from a special elaboration consisting of the autolysis of the yeasts with the base wine for 3 months before being bottled, and a second autolysis of the yeasts for a minimum of 15 months of aging inside the bottle.
The 19th international meeting of the world’s best sparkling wines, Effervescents du Monde, organized by Forum Oenologie, was held from November 30 to December 3, 2021 at the Château de Pierreclos, in the Burgundy wine region of France. This annual event is one of the most prestigious in the world and unique in terms of scope, method and ambition.
The awards obtained demonstrate, once again, our commitment to the highest quality and demand in all our wines and Cavas.
