What does brut mean in Cava?

There are different types of Cava depending on the amount of sugar added: Brut Nature (up to 3 gr/l), Extra Brut (up to 6 gr/l), Brut (6- 12 gr/l), Extra Dry (12-17 gr/l), Dry (17-32 gr/l), Semi-dry (32-50 gr/l) and Sweet (more than 50 gr/l).

What does brut mean in Cava?

According to the DO Cava, Brut Cava has a sweet entry that allows a greater amount of added sugar in the expedition liqueur. The good acidity of the product makes this small amount of sugar barely perceptible, highlighting only its virtues and adding one more pairing option to the range of Cavas. It is ideal with Asian foods or with a spicy touch.

Cava Brut is a great ally even for those foods that are difficult to pair with other wines. Its sugar content is up to 12 grams per liter.
