Our renowned Cava has obtained good evaluations from Centelles, as reflected in his article published on the Jancis Robinson website. In this exclusive unprecedented tasting, 40 other long-aged Cavas have also participated, selected and tasted, by the specialized journalist Ramon Francàs.
Centelles defines Segura Viudas Torre Galimany Brut Nature Gran Reserva 2014 as fresh on the palate with a smoky and toasted profile, with a crisp and pleasantly complex texture, vibrant acidity and a long finish. In 1998, the first vintage of this select sparkling wine was born to lay the basis for a new generation of Cavas with high expression and personality. It is aged in the bottle for at least 30 months to appreciate the multiple nuances of the barrel and the base wines. The Torre Galimany awards and recognitions are an example of dedication and a job well done: Great Gold at the Iberwine Awards and a Gold medal at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
Ferran Centelles is a prestigious professional in the wine sector with extensive experience as a sommelier and journalist, and is also a taster and editor in Spain for Jancis Robinson. He has been awarded the National Gastronomy Prize in 2011 and the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy Prize for the best Sommelier in 2013. According to Centelles, “Cavas with a greater aging in the bottle are extremely refined”, he adds, “with a level of maximum quality that places them in a first world level”.
